What is an Arm Lift?
Many people as they age or lose weight will develop the dreaded "bat wing," excess skin and fat that hangs from the underside of the upper arm. There are a lucky few that have excess fat and firm, elastic skin, who will benefit from liposuction alone. The rest of us also need to have skin excised in a procedure known as an arm lift.
To see the difference between these procedures, we suggest looking at some arm lift before and after pictures versus the liposuction ones. While arm lift costs may differ, the end results will make it worth it. If you're interested in this procedures, please give us a call today to set up your initial consultation.
How is an Arm Lift Performed?
An elliptical excision of skin can be performed with a scar that is tucked away on the inside of the arm. Also known as a brachioplasty, this arm lift procedure is often done in combination with liposuction. Keep in mind that a brachioplasty is not scarless surgery. The scar will be well hidden, but an incision is needed to remove excess loose skin. A short-scar brachioplasty is possible in cases were there is only a small amount of excess skin.
How Do I Know if an Arm Lift is Right for Me?
If you are unhappy with flabby, excess skin on your upper arms, an arm lift may be the perfect solution. One of the best resources to determine if this procedure is for you is our gallery of arm lift before and after pictures. Flip through these and you'll see just how beneficial this surgery can be.
What Type of Post-Operative Arm Lift Care Can I Expect?
The arm lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, and you should expect mild to moderate pain. A compressive dressing will be placed after surgery and removed after one week. Recovery time is also generally about one week. Drainage tubes are sometimes needed for larger arm lifts and are removed after one week. View Arm Lift Before and After Pictures.
