Perlane
Beaux Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery offers Perlane to patients throughout Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD.
What is Perlane?
Perlane is an FDA-approved injectable cosmetic facial filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial folds of patients across the world. Perlane is made by the same company as Restylane, Medicis Aesthetics, and they share many similar features. However, Perlane has a much higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, providing smooth, natural results that may last longer than Restylane or Juvederm.
During your initial consultation, we would be happy to discuss any questions or concerns about this treatment. We will also go over average Perlane costs at this time, and show you some Perlane before and after pictures so you can get a feel for what the results look like.
What are Common Uses of Perlane?
By plumping up the skin when injected, Perlane flattens deep folds in the cheeks and chin. It can also be used to smooth deep wrinkles, scars and augment lips. As part of a custom facial rejuvenation treatment by Dr. Nia Banks, Perlane can be combined with BOTOX Cosmetic or Restylane, depending on the degree of work needed and the number of places that require more definition.
Some of the most popular uses of Perlane include:
- Wrinkle correction
- Diminishing worry lines, smile lines, crow's feet, marionette lines at corners of the mouth, and smoker's lines
- Lip enhancement
- Reducing the severity of nasolabial folds
- Chin augmentation
- Chin augmentation
- Filling cheek depressions
- Redefining lip border
- Softening acne scars
- Nose Correction
- Eye Brow Lift
What are the Benefits of Perlane?
Perlane has been used throughout the world safely by doctors since the year 2000. Perlane supplements the body's natural supply of hyaluronic acid, which becomes depleted with age. It is biodegradable, so its effects are not permanent. Results of a Perlane tend to last six months to a year, much longer than the typical results of collagen injections. Perlane also contains no animal products.
How Does Perlane Differ From Other Facial Fillers?
Perlane is primarily the same product as Restylane and Juvederm, but Perlane contains a larger concentration of hyaluronic acid. Because of this higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, Perlane is usually used for larger folds, while Restylane and Juvederm are better suited for smaller wrinkles or to maintain the results of a previous Perlane treatment. To see how the results differ, browse through some Perlane before and after pictures.
What are Side Effects of Perlane?
As with any treatment, you may experience a slight redness, swelling, tenderness and itching in the treated area. These symptoms clear up in a few days. Results can last up to 8 months or more, depending on the treatments performed. The procedure can be repeated as frequently as required.
