How to Improve Droopy Eyelids, Bags and Dark Circles?

Our eyes can either make or break a first impression. So, it only makes sense that you would want yours to look as good as you feel. Unfortunately, droopy eyelids, bags, and dark circles can combine to create an impression that may be less energetic and engaged than you would like. While these symptoms can occur as a normal part of the aging process, rest assured that you do not have to settle for this as your new normal. Instead, it may be time to consider blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty: An Effective Lift For Your Eyes Eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty, Dr Banks, Beaux Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery, Washington dc

A procedure specifically designed to address the appearance of the eyes, blepharoplasty can address issues with both the upper and lower eyelids, removing excess skin and fat to combat the droopy, puffy look you may have acquired.

During the procedure, Dr. Banks places the incisions in naturally occurring creases of the eyelids, to minimize the appearance of scarring later on. Many of our patients choose to combine their blepharoplasty with fat transfers and fillers to make the junction between the eyelid skin and the cheek smoother, and to add plumpness to the cheeks. This combination of procedures not only brightens the eyes, but gives a more youthful appearance to the rest of the face.

Is Eyelid Surgery Painful?

One of the best aspects of electing to have a blepharoplasty procedure is that most patients report minimal pain in the aftermath. Although you can expect to have swelling and bruising for approximately one to two weeks, sutures will be removed after five days. You can begin wearing makeup and concealer again after one week. In general, patients who undergo upper eyelid surgery require one week to recover, while patients who undergo lower eyelid surgery require two.

Is Blepharoplasty Right for Me?

Eyelid surgery is a trusted choice that can address a variety of eyelid concerns, including droopy eyelids, bags and dark circles. However, the best way to determine whether this procedure is right for you is to schedule a consultation.
