Men and women with ALL skin types, including darker skin tones such as Asian, Latin, African American or Black Skin and mixed race skin tones can safely and effectively be treated. Dark skin types require a specific YAG laser to be most safe and effective. Lighter skin tones respond well to the Alexandrite laser. A Diode laser can be used safely in all skin types when used carefully. At Beaux Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery, we offer an Nd: YAG laser which utilizes both of these attributes and can be used safely on all skin types.
