What is a Thigh Lift?
Are you unhappy with flabby, dimpled or loose tissue on your thighs? If so, a thigh lift may help. Also referred to as a thighplasty, a thigh lift is a procedure that reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, leaving you with smoother skin and sexier contours of the thighs and lower body.
If this sounds like a surgery for you, give us a call to talk about thigh lift prices, or to set up a consultation. And if you’re still unsure, we recommend looking at some thigh lift before and after pictures to give you a better idea of the results.

How is a Thigh Lift Performed?
There are a few different approaches to the thigh lift procedure. Options include an inner thigh lift, a vertical thighplasty, an outer thigh lift and a spiral thighplasty. The type of thigh lift you choose will depend on the treatment area of choice, as well as your skin quality and amount of fat that needs to be removed.
In all cases, your doctor will make an incision in the appropriate area and then lift and/or excise any excess skin. She will use deep stitches to support the thigh’s new contours, and the incision will be closed with sutures. Your surgeon will discuss all of your options during your one-on-one consultation.
How Do I Know if a Thigh Lift is Right for Me?
If you have sagging or drooping skin around the upper thigh, you may be a good candidate for a thigh lift. Sometimes this loose, hanging skin appears due to a significant weight loss, and sometimes it’s just simple aging and gravity. Regardless, the ideal candidates are those who are physically and emotionally healthy, maintain a stable weight and are non-smokers. It’s also important to understand that thigh lifts are not a substitute for weight loss.
What Type of Post-Operative Thigh Lift Care Can I Expect?
You may experience some discomfort and tightness in the treatment area for up to 72 hours after your thigh lift. Other side effects include bruising, swelling and soreness. You’ll be given a compression garment that you’ll need to wear, which promotes tightening of the skin and protects the incision site. Drainage tubes are also inserted to remove excess fluid, which the doctor will remove once the fluid is gone.
While you should avoid any strenuous activity for at least a month, it’s important to move around as much as possible to prevent blood clot formations. Most patients are able to return to work after two to three weeks.
